A Comfortable Philosophy on Seating
Given the fact that seating accounts for more than 26 percent of the office furnishings, industry and the average American office worker puts in a 7.5 hour day, and that 80 to 90 percent of that time is spent in a seated position, the importance of seating is often overlooked by clients, dealers and salespeople who throw a task or executive chair into the mix as an afterthought to a design concept. I don’t care how great the office looks, if I’m not comfortable in my chair, I’m not comfortable at all. I’ll fidget, slump down, hunch over. Maybe I’ll get some lower back pain that will require me to be out of work or file an insurance claim. I won’t feel as productive because I won’t feel good.

A conference room table won’t cause me to be unproductive, but the chair I’m sitting in during the conference, that’s another story. Combine comfort with aesthetics and sustainability and you’ve got a winning combination. Your concern for your business, employees and, “green” views combined in the perfect chair can make you the most admired of workers in your office. Ask the experts and adapt a comfortable philosophy about seating.
